Performing Arts Series: Ballet Des Moines
Ballet Des Moines presents "See the Music (Hear the Dance)," a mesmerizing performance featuring choreography by artistic director Tom Mattingly. The performance opens with a world premiere collaboration between Ballet Des Moines and the acclaimed Aizuri Quartet playing the haunting strains of Philip Glass' String Quartet No. 5. World-class artists bring the soaring piece to life with Mattingly's choreography.
Concert: Iowa Statesmen
The Iowa Statesmen, one of the region's leading men's choirs, is directed by James Rodde. The ensemble specializes in the performance of traditional and contemporary male chorus literature.
Concert: ISU Symphonic Band
The Symphonic Band, conducted by Michael Golemo, is an 80-member ensemble that explores traditional as well as contemporary works.

Yamato is a Japanese Taiko drumming group based in Asuka-mura Nara Prefecture which is well known by Japanese people as the hometown of Japan. On stage, they are standing with more than 40 Taiko drums and all of them have different characters. Yamato is sometimes intense, sometimes sad, sometimes comforting, and in the next moment comical on stage.

Poetic Autoethnography of Place: Poems of Experience in/of the Natural World
Poetry heightens attention to sense of self and writing a poem is a reflective and creative exercise. To write a poem about nature elevates our interconnection with other living things and is both grounding and generative. Practice reading and writing poems that celebrate our experiences in the natural places that make us who we are with with Katherine Richardson Bruna, Willie and Kathleen Robinson ISU 4U Promise Professor, School of Education.

Together we go on a musical journey through the decades that shows how the heroes in the Civil Rights movement inspired John Lewis to protest injustice and get into 'good trouble.'

Performing Arts Series: Czech National Philharmonic of Moravia
The Czech National Philharmonic was founded in 1908, during which the orchestra performed its first concerts under the direction of Bohuslav Martinu. In 1945, it was reconstituted after the Second World War, and awarded the title of 'National' Philharmonic. The orchestra is famous for performing the works of Dvorak, Smetana, Martin?, Beethoven, Brahms, Mozart and Schubert. The distinguished Maestro Pavel Snajdr will be the conductor for this tour
