Council Review Lincoln Way Corridor Plan Study
Dan DeGeest's Council ReviewFebruary 16th, 2016 Council Workshop |
Dear Friends,
Please read below to find out how to get involved with the Lincoln Way Corridor study which was presented at the February 16th, 2016 City Council workshop.
The February 16th, 2016 agenda included:
-
1. Discussion with Consultants regarding Lincoln Way Corridor Plan Study.
-
City Council, staff and several Ames residents took part in a workshop on February 16, 2016. Representatives from Houseal Lavigne Associates provided an overview of the project goals and then lead the City Council through a few brainstorming exercises to get things rolling. Many issues and ideas were presented and making the corridor safe and inviting for all modes of users especially pedestrians and bicyclists, which are virtually excluded from the area now due to lack of facilities, was the top voted priority of the evening. Transportation improvements were a big topic during the recent campaign with all candidates saying they were strongly in favor of building Complete Streets - this project will be a great chance to put that talk into action.
-
But more importantly, the Lincoln Way Corridor study is a chance for YOU to make your IDEAS heard and INFLUENCE the outcome. To that end there will be a series of public input forum sessions starting next week.
