The Ames City Council meets on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. at Homewood Golf Course ClubhouseThe agenda includes the following (and much more). Note that you can generally click on individual agenda items below to get the full staff report or other explanation.

  • 1. Council Goal Update Session (see council goals)
Council reviewed the progress made so far on our goals for 2022 and 2023, and discussed if any tasks needed to be added or adjusted. Council also reviewed the Planning and Housing department workplan for 2023 and the non-prioritized projects for the department to determine if any council requests should move up in priority or off the list. Then council discussed how to be an effective governing / decision-making body and what the city staff can do to help council become a more effective governing body. Overall, we've made progress on each of our seven goals, but there is much more to come in this calendar year!
