REGULAR MEETING OF THE AMES CITY COUNCIL*
*The Regular City Council Meeting will immediately follow Budget Wrap-Up
-
32. Hearing on Ash Pond Closure and RDF Ash Pond Construction and Motion accepting report of bids.
Staff are recommending we accept the report of bids but delay awarding a contract to allow staff more time to look into why the bid was so much lower than the engineer's estimate for this project. -
34. Hearing on rezoning of 210 South 5th Street from Agricultural (A) to Highway Oriented Commercial (HOC) with an Environmentally Sensitive Overlay.
This request is from Boys and Girls Club for an expansion project, and would change the land from it's current Ag zoning to HOC (highway oriented commercial). Part of the property has an overlay, due to its proximity to Ioway Creek's floodway, so development on that portion would be limited.
Communications to Council: The following items are requests and communications to Council that aren't published on the agenda, so we won't deliberate them substantially. This includes staff reports and communications or requests from constituents and developers. Typically, Council will ask city staff for more information, put the item on a future agenda for deliberation and possible action, or just accept the communication, taking no further action.
- Parking waiver request for MSI workshop.
- Research park residential rezoning.
- Zoning text amendment ISU Research Park Hub area.
- Slow pitch field conditions.
