Ames First Roundabout: Ames Bicycle Coalition multimodal ideas are considered by council.
The Ames City Council begins at 7:00 PM March 3rd. The agenda includes:
-
Item 23 -- Hearing on Inis Grove Park Sand Volleyball Court Lighting.
-
Item 24 -- Follow-up Staff Report on Demand Service Plan for HIRTA. Last year concerns were raised about HIRTA and its quality of service as well as the possibility of agencies, which represent users having expectations which were unreasonably high. Now we have both groups at the table working to improve these issues.
-
Item 26 -- Follow-up on reporting requirements for secondhand goods dealers. The city must decide whether or not holding up transactions as long as 10 days and requiring dealers of valuables to record transactions aimed at aiding the police in theft investigations is worth the extra time and effort it places on the businesses.
-
Item 27 -- 500-Year Flood Hydraulic Analysis of Riverside Manor at 1204 S. 4th Street. The impact on some neighbors of this development would be near half a foot increase in the 500' flood elevation.
-
Item 29 -- Staff report on University Avenue and Airport Road Roundabout. The Ames Bicycle Coalition (ABC) has proposed many solutions to multi modal issues on this project. Staff will report on their reasoning why those compromises are not reasonable ways to address ABC's concerns.
-
Item 32 -- Financial assistance for Barilla America, Inc.
-
Item 34 -- Federal Reimbursement Regulation Resolutions for ISU Research Park infrastructure improvements and Airport Terminal projects.
