The Ames City Council begins at 7:00 PM April 14th. The agenda includes:
-
Item 20 -- Tom Evans Plaza Mural. Due to deterioration the mural will be effaced in repairs.
-
Item 27 -- Requests for Summerfest in Campustown on June 6, 2015. This event is an annual staple of Campustown, Click here her for more information.
-
Item 52 -- Motion approving/denying hosting a bike commuter continental breakfast at City Hall on Monday, May 11, as part of National Bike-to-Work Week (May 11-15). Thanks to the Ames Bicycle Coalition for their support of Bike-to-Work Week
-
Item 53 -- Resolution approving Campustown Facade Grants. The first 2 pilot projects in the Campustown Facade Grant Programs are considered.
-
Item 54-- Staff Report on Floor Area Ratio requirements. The council has received a request from a developer who wishes to adjust the ratio of total developed square footage to the area of the lot. The developer expresses interest in developing commercial building more intensely on South Duff Avenue and adding a parking ramp to facilitate this. As such development would be more intense, there are tax benefits to the community as well as a more efficient use of land. This project is anticipated on South Duff. Two additional considerations should be flood impacts as well as traffic impacts.
-
Item 56 -- Staff report on e-cigarettes . The council has been asked to consider banning the use of e-cigarettes in public spaces.
-
Item 60 -- Hearing on annexation of 3599 and 3601 George Washington Carver.
